Sri Lanka has finalized an agreement to purchase power from wind plants developed by Adani Green Energy Limited of India at a rate of 8.26 US cents per kilowatt-hour, as per a government statement. This decision, approved by the cabinet following negotiations by a Cabinet Appointed Negotiations Committee, will see Adani being compensated in rupees based on prevailing exchange rates. The contract spans 20 years and entails the construction of 484 megawatts of wind plants in Mannar and Pooneryn.
